NI DI AQUI, NI DE ALLA, is an emotionally charged and immersive live performance experience! using movement, music, imagery, and ceremony to share the personal and collective experiences of Chicano communities. we explore themes of displacement, resistance, and reclamation, blending contemporary dance with Chicano identity.

ALICIA MULLIKIN

EL SUEÑO DIRECTOR

ALICIA is an Indigenous Chicana dance artist and educator. She creates work under the name El Sueño (meaning the dream) The name is a recognition that she carries the dreams of her ancestors with her. Her work has been featured at numerous institutions across the United States– propelling Alicia's powerful expressions of Mexican Indigeneity to the forefront. In 2023, Alicia's unwavering dedication to her community earned her recognition as an Arts Advocacy Leadership Fellow from the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures. Alicia strives to empower historically marginalized communities and nurture future ancestors through all of her work.

SARAH HOGLAND-GURULE

DANCER & COLLABORATOR

SARAH is a dancer and choreographer from Albuquerque, NM who is guided by the belief that dance is a liberatory form of storytelling, medicine and resistance-- and creates performance rituals honoring her enslaved Genízara indigenous ancestors. Sarah is a passionate student of street dance and hip hop culture who focuses on popping, waving and animation. She believes dance is a natural right of expression for all people.

JULIO MEDINA

DANCER & COLLABORATOR

JULIO is a Chicano dance artist currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, born and raised in Los Angeles. He is an Assistant Professor at Emory University. Julio’s work explores resilience, connection, and restoration — and his current research reclaims his Indigenous Mexica roots, weaving movement with cosmology and mythology.

MONIQUE IXCHEL ORO

DANCER & COLLABORATOR

MONIQUE originally from Los Angeles and currently based in New York. She is a UCLA graduate who creates performance works that honor the stories of the women who came before her. Monique uses inspiration from her Salvadoran and Mexican ancestry. Blending street dance, film, and spoken word, she transforms movement into a space for healing, resistance, and liberation for Brown and Black women

TESSA BAÑALES

PRODUCTION MANAGER & DANCER

TESSA is a movement artist and collaborator of Persian and Mexican American heritage. She actively partners with groups like El Sueño, where she can merge art with advocacy to uplift marginalized people and communities. Through her involvement as a dancer and production manager with El Sueño, she is able to seamlessly blend her artistic passion with her backstage expertise, amplifying narratives of shared history and aspirations for the future. Tessa has been instrumental in bringing to life some of El Sueño’s most ambitious exhibitions and projects.

DEVIN MUÑOZ

DANCER & COLLABORATOR

DEVIN is a Mexican-American dancer and film maker in Seattle. Her community-based approach to capturing movement has led her to collaborate with many artists and businesses in the PNW, such as EL SUEÑO, TomboyX, PRICEarts, KaisaFit and others to bring their vision to life. Devin aims to create purposeful archives for reflection and to inspire others to do the same.

ANTONIETA CARPIO

ANTONIETA (ella) is a producer, designer, actor, and manager who continues to strive to provide spaces for Brown, Black and Queer inclusive intersectional narratives, particularly in the devised and immersive realm. RAMIRO RAMIREZ DUARTE

MUSICIAN

RAMIRO grew up in the Otomi indigenous community in Mexico and uses pre-Hispanic or ancient instruments to create emotional and ancestral music. His arrangements have been featured in the popular video game “Tomb Raider” and in the Marvel movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” His work has allowed him to travel the world and bring attention to this important genre of music.

MARIBEL GALVAN

SAHUMADORA

MARIBEL is a visual artist and sahumadora (fire-keeper) inspired by her cultural roots as a Southwest Chicana from the Pacific Northwest. Her work focuses on unapologetically celebrating the multidimensions of Chicanx/Latine identity. All of her work honors the matriarchs, who are often our connection to our indigeneity—as well as the main holders of our cultural roots, wisdom, sacred medicine, connections to the land, and family history.

MARIA MUÑOZ

HEALER/CEREMONY LEADER

MARIA works with Spirit as an energy alchemist, intuitive guide and cultural practitioner. As a Chicana with Mexican Indigenous roots, she honors traditions shaped by her initiation as a mujer de conocimiento as well as those inherited through her family and community upbringing. Her work reflects the values she was raised with, honoring ancestry, community, and tradition. She creates spaces that foster connection and a sense of coming home, where healing is woven into every gathering and cultural traditions are carried forward with care.

JASMIN FLORES-ROSALES

COLLABORATOR

JASMIN is a 19-year-old first-generation Mexican American musician, Aztec drummer (huehuetera), and student at Seattle Central College studying music. Rooted in her Mexican and Indigenous heritage, she uses rhythm and percussion to honor ancestral traditions while developing her artistry through music studies. Jasmin is dedicated to growing as both an artist and cultural bearer while inspiring other young people to embrace their heritage.
